Events & Live Music

Our live music offering is popular with locals and visitors alike – from well-known acts to local musicians, and our welcoming Acoustic Nights, Open Mic Nights and Open Jam sessions where everyone is invited to join in.

The Bar

A great range of real ales, craft beer and ciders are all sourced from local brewers. Our bar also boasts fine wines, grown-up soft drinks (child-friendly ones, too) and a fantastic selection of local spirits for all our cocktail recipes.

Our Food

We’re really passionate about using locally sourced ingredients. All our food is freshly home-cooked using seasonal produce from local suppliers, served by our very friendly and most welcoming team of staff.

Ted’s Home Smoked Ribs #tedsribs

If you haven’t tried them, you need too! Ted prepares and home smokes all the ribs served at The Olde Plough Inn. He’s promised to put a video on the website (we are still waiting for it!) so we can see how he does it. He uses his own ‘secret recipe’ and can often be found smokein’ if he’s not in the kitchen.

As a small, local village pub, we are proud to source our meat locally in and around Devon. We like to know where our food comes from and we like to be able to tell you as well. Ted’s Rib’s are unique to the pub and we are pretty sure you won’t find anything like them in the area.

Taste and see! #tedsribs

Our Village & Our Family

Set in the Tamar Valley village of Bere Ferrers on the banks of the River Tavy, The Olde Plough Inn dates back to the 16th Century.

Once a humble collection of three silver miners’ cottages, the building became a pub in 1857 and is now cosy and full of character, with a wood-burning stove, exposed stonework walls, beamed ceilings and flagstone floor. Our beer garden overlooks the river, and the views are stunning!

Our pub is run by us! Ted, Sarah and our four children, Enya, Fin, Libby and Connie. Oh, and not forgetting our extremely important pub dog, Otis!

Running The Old Plough Inn is part of family life for us. Don’t be surprised if you pop in for a meal and one of our little one’s is scribbling away in the corner. We are part of the bussling village of Bere Ferrers who rely on our locals, dog walkers and regular vistors in the area to keep us going.

So, thank you for visiting the website. We’d love your feedback. Please write a review for us on TripAdvisor, tag us on instagram or just say, “Hi” when you’re passing through.
